NASA’s Universe of Learning Partners

The Team Behind NASA’s Universe of Learning

Our multi-institution team works together to create and deliver a cohesive suite of astrophysics-themed products, programs, and professional learning experiences for informal and lifelong learning environments. Our programming supports informal educators, scientists, and engineers, who are important partners in our projects and share them with the public.

Leadership Team

NASA’s Universe of Learning is a unique partnership between:

Our program is evaluated by Goodman Research Group, Inc.

Additional Team Partners

  • Association of Science-Technology Centers
  • National Girls Collaborative Project
  • National Science Olympiad
  • SAO Science Education Department
  • Smithsonian Affiliations

Our team has also benefited from working with a number of talented partners in the past, including Sonoma State University and Cornerstone Evaluation Associates.

NASA Science Activation

As a member of the NASA Science Activation Team, the NASA’s Universe of Learning project is funded by and contributes to the NASA Science Mission Directorate’s goal of incorporating the expertise and experiences of science and engineering experts into science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) learning environments. We’re regularly identifying new ways to contribute content to informal learning environments more effectively and efficiently to support learners of all ages. Providing direct access to scientists and engineers’ expertise enhances NASA’s ability to support national learning and literacy in STEM fields.

Ongoing Collaborations

Our team collaborates with several other NASA Science Activation team programs as well as outside organizations to ensure that high-impact and scientifically accurate content and resources are available to address learning- and audience-driven needs. We work with these organizations to gather astrophysics content, and invite them to present to and participate in our programs and events. We also increase the dissemination of our resources by directly distributing them to a nationwide network of informal educators and hard-to-reach audiences.

The Reach of NASA’s Universe of Learning

Working with a wide range of partners has helped the NASA’s Universe of Learning team connect with museums, science centers, public libraries, and other venues across the country.
